Bloom Set 5-10-10
5-10-10Lower nitrogen so tomatoes and peppers set fruit instead of leaf.
- Phosphorus and potassium led for flowering and fruit
- Restrained nitrogen keeps plants from running to leaf
- Suits tomatoes, peppers, squash and roses
Milled to order and dated on the bag. Orders in before 2pm ship the same working day.
Keep off skin and out of eyes, and rinse with plenty of water if either happens. Do not apply before heavy rain is forecast, as the run-off reaches watercourses. Store dry, sealed and out of reach of children and animals; the prills look like something worth eating and are not.
The balanced all-round mineral feed for vegetable plots and mixed borders.
A straight, balanced analysis for the times you want a predictable result. Ten percent each of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, prilled to a uniform size so it throws evenly out of a broadcast spreader and does not separate in the bag on the way to you.
Use it where the soil is broadly healthy and the planting is simply hungry: a hard-worked vegetable plot, a border carrying a lot of annuals, a new bed you have not had time to build up yet. It is fast, it is cheap per square foot, and it is honest about being a mineral feed rather than a soil improver.
Follow these in order. The rates below are the ones we test to, and going over them will not make anything grow faster.
Work out the square footage first, because this is a mineral feed and over-application is the one way to damage plants with it. The rate is 1.5 lb per 100 square feet, which is about 3 level cups.
Water the bed the day before if it has been dry. Broadcast the prills evenly across the surface, keeping them off leaves, crowns and stems. Do not concentrate the product in one spot around a plant.
Give the bed a thorough soak straight after spreading so the prills dissolve and move down to the roots. Prills left sitting dry on the surface can scorch anything they touch.
Feed no more than every six weeks and stop by late summer. If growth is already strong and dark green, skip the feed rather than adding one you do not need.
