Keep off skin and out of eyes and rinse well with water if contact happens. Do not apply immediately before heavy rain, as run-off carries phosphorus into watercourses where it does real damage. Store sealed, dry and out of reach of children and animals.
Lower nitrogen so tomatoes and peppers set fruit instead of leaf.
The classic fruiting analysis. Half the nitrogen of a balanced feed, double the phosphorus and potassium, which is the ratio you want once a plant has enough leaf and needs to put its energy into flowers and fruit instead.
The usual reason for a tomato plant six feet tall carrying four fruit is too much nitrogen too late. Start the season on something balanced, then switch to this once the first flowers open and let the plant get on with cropping.
Follow these in order. The rates below are the ones we test to, and going over them will not make anything grow faster.
Wait until flowers are actually opening before switching to this. Applied too early it slows the leafy growth the plant still needs to build a crop on.
Scatter evenly across damp soil around the plants, keeping the granules off stems and leaves, then water in thoroughly so nothing sits dry against the plant.
Continue while the plant is still setting and swelling fruit. Stop once picking has finished, or about six weeks before your first expected frost.
