This is a manure product. Wear gloves, keep it away from your face, and wash your hands before eating or smoking. Water it in after spreading and keep dogs off treated ground until it has rained or been watered, as they will eat the pellets given the chance.

About this fertilizer

Poultry manure composted until it is stable, heat-treated, then pressed into hard pellets that hold together until they get wet. Pelleting is what makes manure practical to use: no dust cloud, no smell until it rains, and an even spread you can actually measure.

It is stronger than most organic feeds at 5-3-2, which makes it a good choice for hungry crops like brassicas, sweetcorn and pumpkins, or for a hard-worked plot that needs more than compost alone can supply.

  • Spring preparation of vegetable beds
  • Feeding fruit trees and bushes before bud break
  • Building fertility in a plot cropped hard the previous year
How to apply it

Application instructions

Follow these in order. The rates below are the ones we test to, and going over them will not make anything grow faster.

  1. Spread before planting

    Apply 4 lb per 100 square feet across cleared ground and rake into the top 3 inches. Water well and wait at least two weeks before sowing seed directly into treated ground.

  2. Feed established plants

    Scatter a small handful around each plant, out at the drip line rather than against the stem, and hoe it lightly into the surface. Water in so the pellets soften and start breaking down.

  3. Repeat every eight weeks

    Reapply through the growing season while crops are still bulking up. Stop by late summer so plants harden off properly before autumn.
